Move Reviews Just Went Web 2.0

Time for my perennial new status post. I've just completed my new web site project, Popcorn Confessions, a new movie review social network. People can write reviews and vote on others' reviews, befriend people and recommend movies to each other.

Obviously I've been working on it for a while and I'm really excited. Any suggestions please let me know.

Ideas for Interesting Information?

Does anyone have any interesting article ideas for nomadicnation.com? I could use the input. I realize that I've been in a lag lately, and my apologies for that. I've put everything on nomadicnation.com on hold while working on a major project that will be revealed shortly.

New Creative Marketing Site

Well, once again I find myself coming back here to post another update on my sites. I now have a new web site all about creative brand marketing using online marketing and event marketing. It's a work in progress right now. I'm not entirely excited about the design and that'll probably go in the next week. But this site will be one of the only good sources on event marketing on the web right now, and will talk about search engine optimization and online marketing from a branding perspective, rather than the typical insider seo info slant.

Interesting Facts at Nomadic Nation

So, Nomadic Nation is really doing a lot better. I've been better about writing when I'm not writing about my own life but writing essays and interesting articles. My latest article was about Harry Houdini.

And with my new wordpress.com blog, which I've been writing in more consistently, I've got an outlet for just about anything random I want to write about that doesn't fit with the theme of Nomadic Nation.

I have to say I'm very impressed with wordpress. Blogger is probably easier to just throw up a blog and post, but wordpress is still pretty easy, and you can do a lot more with it.

Nomadic Nation Lives

Well, as you can all see, the blogger blog really didn't go anywhere. I wasn't much of one for keeping a blog for myself. I found out that I wasn't really good at blogging about my personal life.

Well, now I have a new job, where I'm sitting at a computer all day working for an internet services compnay. One of the fringe benefits is getting some free webspace, and on my free time, I wanted to do something with it. I ended up creating the first of a family of new web sites: nomadicnation.com.

After a lot of thinking, which I detailed in my first post there, How to Make a Nomad Site, I decided that I really want to write about the things I like to read about. It's the same sort of stories that I always click on on digg.com. I'm always reading about neat fun facts and information on science, mythology, history, and generally geeky stuff. I'm constantly in search of new information and always getting stuck on wikipedia for hours, ultimately waking up and realizing that I'm reading something about the history of chocolate when I started by just trying to look something up about Abraham Lincoln. If I'm going to have this information addiction and constantly try and accumulate new facts, I might as well write about them too. So the Nomadic Nation website will be all about learning fun facts and new informationand then writing articles about them. They say the best way to learn is by teaching, so I'm sharing what I read.

If you get a chance, drop by the site and read my articles about the History of Atlantis or The Origin of the Olympic Marathon, and stay tuned for all the new interesting articles to come.

Also, if you have any ideas on some fascinating topics for stories, let me know.

Meanwhile, I'll be using this blog mainly to blog about the project and any new developments in the nomad sites.

Back to Blogger

Well, you know. I've had this space for a while and I've never really done anything with it. So, I've decided to make a page out of this. We'll see. I had a blog for a while before, and I never had time for it, so it kind of died a slow death. Hopefully, I'll have time to at least post some things here. I'll post some pictures while I'm out traveling with my job, and maybe I'll think of something to say. Anyway, here's a picture to get started. I took it at the U.S. Open when I was shooting there last summer (almost a year ago now). Federer serving against Agassi in the finals.

Greetings, I come in pieces

Just testing right now. Setting up a blog through blogger by google, going to see if it's got everything I really want or if I have to custom code something.
